Zaga Živković was dancing as a soloist of “Studio of Contemporary Dance” since 1965 when she graduated from the School of Rhythmic and Dance Ana Maletić in Zagreb, Croatia. She was a choreographer and at the same time leader of the “Studio of Contemporary Dance” for many years, as well. She received special recognition of the honorary award for the choreography “The sounds of Istra” together with T. Škrinjarić and B. Kolar from International Conpetition for Choreography in Koln, Germany 1971. Živković was a member of the international group “Arte-Viva” and she danced and choreographed in theaters in Zagreb and abroad.

History of Site and Related Water Issues:
The forested slopes of Mount Medvednica, often referred to by the name of its summit Sljeme, provide a retreat into nature a tram ride away from the heart of the city Zagreb. Medvednica as Nature Park is a haven for plant and animal species surrounded with small creeks. She is cultural and geological rarities with old town and caves.
We will use the folk songs from one part of Croatia that we call Međimurje in which people sing about the water that spring and run from the ground between a stones. A few musicians will improvise on different instruments such as drums and strings instruments.
The dancers will be young students of dance schools as well as retired professional dancers. We expect that there will be approximately 30 performers and some other participants. We will try to adapt costumes regarding the situation and the place of forest near the water.
We hope that we will have at least some impact on better awareness regarding the importance of saving clean water in our surroundings – “the water is source of our life”.
Directions to the Site of Performance:
A tram number 14 from the center of Zagreb ride directly to the bottom of the mountain Sljeme and “The Quinn’s well” is near by the “Tunnel” which represents kind of the gate of the National Park Medvednica.
