History of site and related water issues
Originally the site of the legendary sale of Manhattan, Bowling Green is now a teardrop-shaped plaza in Lower Manhattan at the foot of Broadway. It is New York City’s oldest public park, still surrounded by its 18th century fence. At its northern end is the famous Charging Bull sculpture. At its center is the beautiful approximately 45′ oval-shaped fountain.

The Performance
Choreographer Daniela Plattner reports: “At the end of our performance, we did a “MOVE CHECK” with Occupy Dance. This is inspired by the Occupy Movement’s “mic check” — a speaker shares a water fact, or water story, and moves. The audience repeats what s/he said and mirrors their movement. It was so powerful! This method really brings in the body, the intellect and engages the audience.”
