History of Site and Related Water Issues:

Extensive water issues and history of the pond on Little Lake Drive include a chemical spill by Gilman industries. The spill containment needed the ground water and threatens the ecology of the pond.
The pond is on the cohousing community property, and the contamination is of serious concern to you all in the community.

Music:

Our performance features a mix of live and recorded music. Live music will be performed by Ken Kozora, Ozzy Andrews, and Abby Alwin. Musicians will be on percussion, flute, trumpet, standing bass, and cello respectively.

The Performance:

This performance features multiple groups. We will teach the global dance first so audience members/dancers in the community should plan to be there to learn it right at the beginning. Next Megan Rose dancers will share her choreography. Then Arts in Motion campers will perform their youth dance, which is inspired by the water cycle. People Dancing Company artists will perform a structured improvisation focusing on Michigan’s water issues, directed by company artist Apryl Pipe.

Environmental Impact:

We will be inviting elected officials and the public to our performance. We will be publicizing the water and ecology concerns through conversations, Facebook, and spoken word component.
